Asif Ali

Health Markets Access Director

At MedAccess, Asif Ali leads the Health Markets team, focused on identifying opportunities for financial tools to support lower prices and greater availability for medical products.

Asif is an experienced people leader with a track record – in the health and infrastructure sectors – of developing strategies and delivering high-impact, transformative programmes for international non-profit and private sector organisations, across sub-Saharan Africa, the Asia-Pacific region and Latin America.

Prior to joining MedAccess in April 2024, Asif led the Roche Diagnostics Global Access Program across the EMEA-LATAM region, working closely with global and country stakeholders to drive access to life-saving diagnostics across low- to middle-income countries.

In addition to leading the Project Management and Consultancy team at Roche UK, Asif oversaw multiple programmes with the Clinton Health Access Initiative, including strengthening diagnostics systems across the Southeast Asia and Pacific region (based in India); managing HIV treatment in Malawi; and overseeing the roll-out of a new treatment for severe malaria across the sub-Saharan Africa region (based in South Africa). He has also undertaken stints with the secretariat of the Private Infrastructure Development Group, and as a consultant for Accenture and Skanska.

Asif retains degrees in Biochemistry (BSc), Public Policy (Masters), and Information Technology (MSc), and has voluntarily supported several NGOs and charities, including as a Trustee for ThinkMalawi (Trustee), and as a consultant for BRAC, Asia IIX and Learning for Life.
