Vicky Johnson

Vicky Johnson is a seasoned financial executive with hands-on experience in building, leading, and motivating multicultural teams within fast-paced performance-driven work environments. In addition to streamlining financial procedures within various for-profit and social-impact businesses, Vicky is also adept at preparing and implementing strategic plans, enterprise resource planning (ERP) rollouts, and managing IT, risk, procurement and tax functions.

As Chief Financial Officer, Vicky oversees the strategy, business planning and finance for MedAccess. She is responsible for all financial stewardship, including audit and statutory reporting, taxation, management accounts, treasury management, operating and internal controls, and budgets and forecasting. Applying her extensive experience in streamlining financial procedures within for-profit and social-impact businesses, she also leads the technical accounting for MedAccess volume guarantees and other innovative finance tools.

As a member of the Senior Management Team, Vicky oversees the preparation of the annual business plan working closely with senior leaders to develop the proposition, build consensus, and steward the strategy for Board approval. Her role includes the development of MedAccess’ Climate Change and Environment strategy. Vicky is also responsible for operational risk management and IT.

Immediately prior to joining MedAccess, Vicky served as Global Director of Finance at Dalberg Advisory, leading its global finance and IT teams. Large projects undertaken included a roll out of an ERP system in 18 countries, set up and running of shared services, a new global corporate structure, development of transfer pricing methodologies and implementing global treasury management.

Before Dalberg, Vicky was Director of Operations and Finance at Boston Consulting Group in South Africa, spearheading the establishment of BCG’s first office in Africa and managing personnel within finance, local IT, and human resources departments.

Vicky has broad geographical experience and has worked in global roles as well as intensively across Africa, India, the US, and the UK. Earlier in her career, Vicky served as Head of Finance at McKinsey in South Africa, where she led the financial team and established a corporate office in Nigeria, and she has held senior-level finance positions in the IT, financial services, and commercial sectors in Zimbabwe, South Africa, and the UK.

Vicky holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science degree, Advanced Diploma in Forensic Accounting, and Bachelor of Arts (Historical) degree from from University of South Africa. She is also undertaking an Executive Leadership and Strategy at the University of Oxford, Said Business School. She is also a licenced Chartered Accountant and certified Fraud Examiner.

Vicky is an International Trustee and Chair of the Audit Committee at CAMFED in London, UK.
