Senior Counsel

Sunayna Kainth is an experienced corporate lawyer with over 15 years’ experience in cross-border transactional law, mergers and acquisitions, operations, and transaction management, and has worked in the financial services and healthcare industries throughout her career.

At MedAccess, Sunayna is Senior Counsel. She provides a legal lens across the organisation’s operational policies and processes, and works closely with the Health Investments team to provide the due diligence, legal guidance and documentation required across the full spectrum of partnerships and agreements.

Sunayna is passionate about advancing the development impact that is central to MedAccess’ mission. She uses her knowledge of comparative laws across different local jurisdictions to guide the organisation’s operations in low- and middle-income countries, applying her experience of the legal landscape in countries where MedAccess is seeking to secure impact.

Prior to MedAccess, Sunayna worked in India for 12 years, developing in-depth local jurisdictional knowledge in India and Asia. Her roles in the financial services and health sectors have led to extensive experience in formulating and driving strategic initiatives globally with senior executives and global teams across the US, India, the UK, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and South Africa.

Sunayna’s interests in human rights and purpose-driven impact have been a key part of her professional experience. She has held roles at the Legal Aid Foundation in Los Angeles and the Legal Aid Society in Delhi, and at a healthcare foundation where she focused specifically on impact in low-income communities.

Sunayna holds a LLB degree from the University of Delhi, India and her LLM from the University of Virginia. She also holds a diploma in human rights and is an IAPP certified information privacy manager (CIPM). She has received recognition for her expertise through a number of awards, including India’s 40 under 40 legal counsel and Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Law.
