Ramon Brown

Impact Analyst

Ramon Brown is an Impact Analyst at MedAccess, where he plays a crucial role in advancing the organisation’s impact evaluations. He collaborates with the Head of Impact to assess outcomes in three key areas: access to medicines and patient outcomes, health economics and cost savings, and the dynamics of health markets.

Ramon is also involved in monitoring executed agreements, conducting an ongoing review of MedAccess’ Impact Framework, and developing external communications materials to highlight the results of MedAccess initiatives.

Before joining MedAccess, Ramon served as a consultant in the World Bank’s Health, Nutrition, and Population team. In this role, he contributed to the creation of Climate and Health Vulnerability Indices for India and supported the modelling of Type 2 Diabetes Care Delivery Pathways in Bangladesh. His work identified key challenges and provided strategic recommendations to enhance healthcare outcomes in those regions.

Ramon previously worked at Canada’s Drug Agency, the National Health Technology Assessment Agency, where he assisted in evaluating the health economics of new drugs and medical devices, contributing to recommendations for healthcare investments at both national and sub-national levels. He has also gained industry experience at Eli Lilly and Company, where he worked on the Pricing, Reimbursement, and Access team, focusing on expanding access to type 2 diabetes treatments in Canada.

Ramon has a strong background in quantitative global health research. He developed a Markov model to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of treatments for advanced renal cell carcinoma in Canada. Additionally, during his graduate studies, he worked in Vientiane, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, collaborating with local experts to build a compartmental infectious disease model to assess national Hepatitis B vaccination policy.

Ramon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Synthetic Biology from the University of Western Ontario and a Master’s degree in Mathematical Modelling for Global Health from the University of Oxford.
