Dr Angela Gichaga

Board Member

Dr Gichaga is an esteemed public and social sector leader with extensive experience across civil service, management consulting, NGOs, and academia.

She currently serves as the Global President and CEO of the Financing Alliance for Health, where she collaborates with Ministries of Health and Finance globally to develop resilient and sustainably financed primary and community health systems. She is also the Co-Executive Director of Africa Frontline First, which deploys innovative financing mechanisms across Africa.

Previously, she has held significant roles, such as District Medical Officer of Health and hospital in charge in Kenya, where she led multidisciplinary teams in strategic planning, resource mobilisation, and capacity building.

Her career includes noteworthy tenures at McKinsey & Company’s Africa Delivery Hub, focusing on socio-economic and development issues, and at Kenya’s Ministry of Health, where she codeveloped national health strategies. She currently sits on the boards of Population Services International and Prevail Fund.

Dr Gichaga holds an undergraduate degree in Medicine, a Master’s in Health Economics and Policy, and a Fellowship in Public Sector Management.
